Pause among the forests and prayer flags before descending into Haa, a valley of scattered farmhouses, traditional villages and pristine mountain scenery.
Discover the valley’s sacred heritage at Lhakhang Karpo, the White Temple, and Lhakhang Nagpo, the Black Temple. According to local tradition, the locations of the temples were chosen when white and black pigeons were released to reveal the sacred sites upon which they should be built.

Today brings the defining spiritual experience of your Bhutan journey: the ascent to Paro Taktsang, the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
Follow an ancient mountain trail through fragrant pine forest, passing fluttering prayer flags and viewpoints overlooking the valley. As you climb, the monastery gradually appears—seemingly suspended from a sheer cliff approximately 900 meters above the valley floor.
According to Bhutanese tradition, Guru Rinpoche arrived at this sacred place on the back of a tigress and meditated within a mountain cave during the eighth century. Accompanied by your private Bhutanese host, discover the legends, Buddhist teachings and spiritual significance that have made Tiger’s Nest one of the world’s most revered pilgrimage sites.
After descending, continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples. Its intimate courtyards, turning prayer wheels and centuries of continuous devotion create an atmosphere of profound tranquility.
Complete your exploration at Paro Rinpung Dzong, an imposing fortress overlooking the valley. Walk through its courtyards and galleries while admiring the intricate woodwork, sacred murals and traditional architecture for which Bhutan is renowned.

The valley is home to ancient temples, traditional villages and Rinpung Dzong—the spiritual stage of Paro Tsechu. Above it all, Paro Taktsang appears to defy gravity, clinging to a forested cliff high above the valley.
These final three days move from celebration to pilgrimage and, finally, reflection. Together, they reveal why Bhutan is not simply somewhere you visit. It is somewhere you feel.
Leave Paro after breakfast and follow the river toward Thimphu, Bhutan’s peaceful capital.
Along the way, stop at Tachog Lhakhang, the Temple of the Excellent Horse. Built by the legendary Tibetan saint and bridge-builder Thangtong Gyalpo, this secluded temple stands above the Paro Chhu and is approached across a traditional iron-chain bridge.
Continue into Thimphu and ascend to the monumental Buddha Dordenma. Seated high above the capital, the gilded statue overlooks the entire valley and houses thousands of smaller Buddha figures within its vast interior.
Visit Memorial Chorten, where residents gather throughout the day to walk in prayer, turn ceremonial wheels and quietly perform their daily devotions.
