As you ascend, your Bhutanese host will share the story of Guru Rinpoche, who according to Bhutanese Buddhist tradition reached this cliff on the back of a tigress and meditated within its caves.<\/span><\/p>

Eventually, the monastery appears across the mountainside, seemingly suspended against the rock.<\/span><\/p>

Cross the waterfall and climb the final stone steps before entering its sacred chambers, where incense, butter lamps and quiet prayer create an atmosphere far removed from the valley below.<\/span><\/p>

After descending, continue toward Shana.<\/span><\/p>
