At approximately 3,100 meters, 108 white chortens rise beneath prayer flags and forested slopes. On clear days, the distant Himalayan range appears beyond the pass, transforming the site into one of Bhutan\u2019s most memorable mountain viewpoints.<\/span><\/p>

You will return here later in the journey for the Druk Wangyel Tshechu. Today offers the opportunity to experience the pass in its quieter form before it becomes a gathering place for celebration.<\/span><\/p>

Descend into the warmer Punakha Valley, where rice terraces, traditional houses and subtropical vegetation follow the river.<\/span><\/p>
