After breakfast, say farewell to your local hosts and begin descending toward the roadhead. Follow the trail through forest and river landscapes, pausing to look back toward the highland settlement gradually disappearing behind you.<\/span><\/p>

Meet your private vehicle at the end of the trail and continue through Gasa toward western Bhutan.<\/span><\/p>

This is a long and spectacular travel day. Follow winding mountain roads beside rivers and forested cliffs as the landscape slowly changes from rugged highland wilderness to the peaceful valleys surrounding Paro.<\/span><\/p>

Subject to trail, road and arrival conditions, pause at Tachog Lhakhang while approaching Paro. Built by the legendary Tibetan saint and bridge-builder Thangtong Gyalpo, this secluded riverside temple is reached across a traditional iron-chain bridge.<\/span><\/p>
