Refunds & Cancellations Policy
At SD Travel Group, we understand that travel plans may change due to unforeseen circumstances. Our Refunds & Cancellations Policy is designed to be transparent and fair while covering operational and vendor-related costs.
Please read the policy carefully before confirming your booking.
1. Cancellation by the Guest
If you wish to cancel your booking, the following cancellation charges may apply:
Domestic Tour Packages (Sikkim, Darjeeling, Bhutan Tours, etc.)
- 30 days or more before departure – 10% of total package cost
- 15–29 days before departure – 25% of total package cost
- 7–14 days before departure – 50% of total package cost
- Less than 7 days before departure – 100% of total package cost (No Refund)
Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email or WhatsApp to our official contact number.
If a guest does not arrive on the scheduled date without prior notice:
- 100% of the total package cost will be charged.
- No refund will be applicable.
3. Refund Processing Time
- Eligible refunds will be processed within 7–14 working days after cancellation confirmation.
- Refunds will be credited to the original payment method used during booking.
- Bank charges or payment gateway fees (if applicable) may be deducted.
4. Non-Refundable Services
The following services are strictly non-refundable:
- Permit fees (e.g., for Nathula Pass)
- Entry tickets & special sightseeing tickets
- Adventure activities
- Flight/train tickets (subject to airline/railway policies)
- Visa fees for Bhutan or international tours
- Peak season hotel bookings (as per hotel policy)
5. Cancellation Due to Natural or Unavoidable Circumstances
In case of:
- Landslides in Sikkim or Darjeeling
- Political disturbances
- Government travel restrictions
- Pandemics
- Road blockages
- Extreme weather conditions
Refunds will be subject to:
- Hotel vendor policies
- Transport vendor policies
- Actual recoverable amount from service providers
SD Travel Group will make every effort to reschedule your trip or provide credit notes where possible.
6. Tour Curtailment (After Trip Has Started)
If a guest decides to:
- Shorten the trip
- Skip sightseeing
- Leave early
No refund will be provided for unused services.
- Date changes, hotel upgrades, or itinerary modifications may attract additional charges.
- Changes are subject to availability.
- Price differences must be paid immediately to confirm revised bookings.
8. Cancellation by SD Travel Group
SD Travel Group reserves the right to cancel a tour due to:
- Insufficient bookings
- Operational reasons
- Safety concerns
In such cases, guests will receive:
- A full refund of the amount paid
OR
- An option to reschedule the trip.
9. Special Conditions During Peak Season
During peak travel periods (March–June, October–December, festivals, long weekends):
- Cancellation policies may be stricter.
- Some hotels may impose 100% cancellation charges.
- Guests will be informed at the time of booking.
- Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against unexpected cancellations.
- All disputes are subject to jurisdiction under Indian law.
